Q2:The sample dissolved in highly polar solvent such as methanol, DMSO, ethyl acetate, etc. is not well absorbed by the solid phase of the flash column and is often washed out without being separated.
A2:A large column could be used in an attempt to solve this problem. However, it is not known how large a column will be necessary to eliminate this harmful effect caused by highly polar solvent until it is tried. It will take many tries before finding a correct size column, and a lot of solvent will be wasted. (See Fig.1)Yamazen’s Inject Column is the answer to solve this problem (Patent Pending). Inject Column traps the highly polar solvent, and a sample free of highly polar solvent moves from Inject column into a main separation column (Universal Column, Hi-Flash Column, etc.), and a good sample separation can be achieved.
